We are a very friendly group with up to 20 taking part on walks. We offer:
- Walks twice a month: this is on the first and third Tuesday of the month.
- Walks ranging from 4 to 7 miles with the length and terrain clearly stated in the programme.
- Where stated, dogs on leads are allowed and welcome.
- The walks vary from local to further afield. We car share so those who do not drive are able to participate.
- When car-sharing, a travel donation is given to the driver and depends on the distance travelled to the start of the walk. This will be stated in the programme.
- Occasionally we will do a walk using public transport.
- We meet at the Council offices, Parton Road to car share. If you prefer you can drive direct to the starting point but, let the leader know so that we can expect you and wait for you if necessary.
- We stop regularly to enjoy the surroundings we are walking in and to allow everyone to keep together.
- A stop for coffee is scheduled into the walk so please bring a drink with you. An optional pub lunch rounds off most walks!
- Of course, sensible clothing and footwear for the conditions are required.
October Walks
Tuesday 6th October
Windrush Valley
6 mile walk led by Jacqui Ellis
Undulating terrain with two steep sections; along the River Windrush, open fields and country roads
Dogs on leads allowed
| Travel Arrangements | Meet 09.05 at Churchdown Parish Council Offices Car Park, to leave at 09.15. Or meet 10.00 in the car park at the back of The Fox Inn at Barrington (use OX18 4TB or ///putty.scope.remission). |

| Details of the walk | Undulating terrain with 2 steep sections. Approx. 6 stiles. Start by walking through Little Barrington, along a footpath and up a steep track to Great Barrington. Continues up alongside a busy country road before turning off onto a track. There will be a coffee stop (bring your own). Along the track before coming across fields to Windrush. Then several more fields before returning to the pub. A lift will cost £4.50 |

Cerney Wick and Cotswold Water Park
5.5 mile walk led by Jacqui Ellis
Flat terrain with one flight of steep steps; open fields, disused railway line, disused canal path and road walking
Dogs on leads allowed

| Details of the walk | Flat terrain. Approx. 6 stiles. Starts alongside several of the lakes. Cross over a conveyor belt of a working quarry! Along a dismantled railway line, before emerging into South Cerney. Short sections of road walking through the village. Back onto the disused railway before climbing a steep flight of steps to get onto a disused canal towpath. On the towpath all the way back to the pub. There will be a coffee stop (bring your own). A lift will cost £4.00 |
